Event Info

RUNSYDUNI is a FREE 4km fun run with 8 weeks of pre-race training sessions on the grounds of the University of Sydney. It is free for all currently enrolled USYD students & USYD staff. Most importantly, it is for all levels of fitness! So don’t delay, get involved!

  • When: FRIDAY 20th September 2024, 1:30pm at The Front Lawns of The Great Hall (University Place)

RUNSYDUNI doubles as the 2024 Interfaculty Run so represent your faculty or department with pride 🦁

RUNSYDUNI is proudly run by Sydney University Athletics Club and supported by Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness and the University of Sydney. All registered participants will receive an official electronic time. Top 3 positions and overall faculty winners will be announced post event!

FAQs

When is event entry cut off? Entries will close Wednesday 11th September (unless capacity reached first).

Can I just enter the fun run without doing the training program? Yes, you absolutely can but you need to register!

Is this the Interfaculty Run? Yes, hence you are asked what your faculty or department is when you register. Your participation will only count if you have registered in advance. For the full list of 2024 Interfaculty sport events, click here

Is this for all fitness levels? YES YES YES! Training sessions are aimed at beginner and social runners.

How early should I arrive on race day? The starting gun will fire at 1:30pm sharp! But leave enough time to collect your race bib.

How is my race time calculated? We are using electronic timing with timing mats & bibs so you will receive both a gun time & net time so there is no need to be at the front of the start line whatsoever!

Can I walk, not run the course? Yes but the course will be progressively re-opened to normal functioning!

Is there bag drop off available? Unfortunately no so please make alternative arrangements.

What is happening on the day? Event day will involve activations and some post race nutrition re-fuelling with a BBQ

I’m not a USYD Student or USYD Staff member, can I enter? Unfortunately not in 2024 but we hope to open the event to everyone in 2025

Course

Event start & finish is the Front Lawns for The Great Hall (University place). Details of our fabulous 4km course around campus will be uploaded prior to event date.

Race bib Collection

Race bibs will be available for collection from 11am on race day. Race bibs must be collected and worn for timing purposes. No race bib, no time! You will be contacted beforehand as a reminder.
